Teacher Webpage

Making a teacher’s web-site is a great way to get all your students and parents involved in your classroom. Having a web-site you will be able to keep everything updated with your daily, weekly and monthly activities. Web-sites can contain homework, mission statement, and even pictures. Having this web-site done in the summer, will allow the parents to see what their children are going to be learning in your class. You can also provide other links for the parents and students to look at. Providing contact information on the internet will give them a quick way to find the information in case it is missing. Teacher web-sites work with both the parents and students.

Lesson Plans

I always thought finding lesson plans with technology in it would be hard because everything is always integrated with all other subjects. Once I googled it, I was completely surprised on what I found on the Internet. There is so much for students to do on and off the computer but still counts as technology. One lesson plan that I enjoyed was a digital story, where the students took pictures and then wrote a story using the digital pictures. If you wanted the students to use the Internet, there are so many websites that students can use to learn so many different things. They have virtual tours, educational games and even quizzes that can be submitted to the teacher. Seeing all the numerous lesson plans that use technology has made me fill more comfortable at using technology in the classroom.

Word

Well I thought I knew everything about WORD but until this past week, I definitely didn't. There is so much I learned. I never even realized all those gadgets even existence. You can create pretty much anything in word. I believe word is such a great program for everyone to use from teachers, parents and students. The students can learn so much from word. They can learn to insert pictures, graphs, to change fonts, colors and size. Now that I know more about word, I feel comfortable using it and have a better understanding on how to teach it to my students.

First Entry

A blog is an electronic journal where you can reflective on how you are feeling on the internet. You can add photos, videos, and other attachments. A blog would be great to use in the classroom because you will be allowing the students to use technology that just keeps improving by the day. Also, having them to create a blog will give them the ability to express how they are feeling and or what they learned. They are also able to communicate with other classmates. Teachers are also able to communicate with the parents on what is going on in class.
